NCS Match Takeover Day

We are always asked “what is NCS?” It is incredibly difficult to explain what NCS is in such a short space of time so being given the opportunity to promote the programme at a Pompey match was too good to miss.

In few words, NCS is a 4 week programme held during the summer which gives young people the chance to take on new challenges, learn new skills and leave a lasting mark on their community.

For us here at NCS, this match was all about getting the NCS brand out there and promoting the programme. Overall, the day was a success… For us anyway

To join us, we had some of our graduates from the summer of 2016 come and help us with various different activities throughout the day. Our grads took part in selling the PUP, promoting Christmas In The Park and even doing the lap of honour around the pitch!

Our team could be seen all over Fratton Park, in their grey and pink hoodies by the dozen. The Pompey players showed their support for NCS by wearing our NCS tops whilst warming up.

For me, it was my first ever football match and it was quite the experience. How many other people can say they got to do the lap of honour at their first game?!

Hearing the crowd cheer for the players, the mascots and even us was a feeling I surely won’t forget. We even got asked to sign a programme, we felt like celebrities!

To us, NCS was very well promoted throughout the day, with a slideshow of pictures even being shown on the big screen at half time. All in all, it was a great day.

If you want to see more of the action from this takeover day, there will be a vlog coming soon!
