Pompey in the Community and Portsmouth Football Club were once again at the annual Southsea Fitness Festival on Southsea’s Castle Field for another great opportunity to spread some football fun and meet more of our community.
Pompey in the Community were hard to miss at the festival with their 15ft inflatable foot darts board towering over the field in front of the Pompey blue bus whilst Portsmouth FC proudly presented the the League 2 trophy for all to see. PITC had a variety of activities on offer at the free open access fitness festival, all football related of course.
Pompey ITC’s activities were all free at the event with the exception of a cheap tombola and the ‘Where’s Nelson Buried His Bone’ contest with plenty of Pompey goodies on offer! We set up a pitch with two goals that were used joyfully throughout the day by the public with footballs we left out also. We used this pitch later in the day for a walking football match with some of our award winning walking football team turning up to play anyone and everyone that dared put on a yellow bib and abide to the no running, no over head height and no backward tackling rules of standard walking football. The match was great and everyone enjoyed themselves. Upon giving out leaflets for our evening walking football sessions afterwards, a lot seemed very interested!
The ever popular foot darts was thoroughly enjoyed by all as we saw hundreds come over and give it their best shot! We saw consistent shots, we witnessed amazing bullseyes, we went and collected fair amount that flew straight over the 15ft inflatable! Thank you all for having a go.
A truly great opportunity to put on some fun activities and connect with our community even more. All those that took a leaflet for one of our many sessions, we can’t wait to see you again.
Many thanks to the organisers for having us and we look forward to coming back next year!
