KEEP ON RUNNING…

Great-South-RunHas running ever tickled your fancy? Been sitting on your bucket list? or is it something that you are really passionate about? Well now could be the perfect opportunity to give it a go, tick it off or carry on with.

Pompey in the Community have been approached by some Pompey fans who want to participate in the Great South Run for the benefit of the charity and they are looking for people of any background to join their running team.

Steven Phillips, running force behind this idea, is looking for anybody that would be willing to run the event for Pompey in the Community. Steven said: ‘It doesn’t matter if you are a seasoned pro or a mere novice to the sport, the idea is to get out there, meet new people, get fit, have fun and raise money for a good cause.’

The event which runs (excuse the pun) on the 23rd October is sure to be a great experience and Pompey in the Community are looking for at least 40 runners to represent the charity and raise much needed funds for a new community minibus, in which is desperately needed to ensure that the great and extremely beneficial projects in which the organisation deliver can continue to run, unaffected.

Adam Lea Marketing and Commercial Manager at Pompey in the Community added: ‘Seeing fans approach the charity and volunteering to run for the organisation is something that is extremely humbling. As an organisation we want to try and benefit as many people in the local community and surrounding areas, so having Pompey fans volunteering their time to help us achieve those goals is something that we are incredibly grateful for.’

Volunteer runners for the event will receive an official running shirt, Pompey badge, running plans and regular team meetings for help and advice, plus much more.
